Came to Detroit to take a look /
Hell no we don't want to be in your book /
We don't know of your name /
The bill collector he's the same /
Or of your government game /
living in Detroit paying more /
poverty area ; the company store /
Live here and pay more /
You fighting the wrong game /
We being played by corporations it's your shame /
You forget you work for us /
Sorry but no longer in God can we trust /
Like the turtle we hide in the shell /
Hiding from the no money hell /
This game full of shit /
Now you just herd of it /
You cant save us from over priced /
Now you want to count us twice /.......

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
