Things ain't what they used to be /
I lay on Earth's soft bed /
Beneath a large Oak tree /
Leaves of shade rescue me /
Thoughts of a world used to be /
Political hypocrisy /
Lies turned to many cries /
Mouth open to shit ,, flies /
Truth be said /
I just did /
Yes i lay on Earths soft bed /
Under a Oak tree /
And i ask WHY ////

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
