A street corner kid /
Ghetto a flowing meadow /
That's what he said /
Searching ,watching hustling /
That's what he did /
Selling lids /
No black , no white /
Never in the light /
Arguments , no one right /
Fight turns to death /
Another murder tonight /
Detroit , Chicago same city everywhere /
Money is power , not right /
Wars with no winners /
Dope addicts , no sinners , Monet skinners /
Standing in front of a beer store /
A Lord of the night /
70 years of searching /
Still cant get it right /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
