Jail of no bars /
Mind travels no cars /
Standing , standing on stars /
Set free of mankind to be /
Lost to this distant land /
No thoughts to it's anarchy /
Democracy turned to stupidity /
This distant sound /
Helicopters fly overhead /
Some one murdered dead /
Bullets fly bombs drop /
Head not /
None better not taught /
All not caught /
Why live this way /
Knowledge not sought /
Schooling not of source /
Livings course /
The how but not the why /
Again today i cry /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
