School no show /
On the streets /
Nickles and dimes /
Smoking a bag ,school no time /
Street corners full of lies /
Lil girls giving in to teen age cries /
Broken home , lost tries /
Society broken /
i will not lie /
drugs now your lover /
No other /
weed but the first step my brother /
No need to act like your mother /
Father not to be your brother /
Moving home to home /
Even the dog has no bone /
Youth your treasure /
not young man pleasure /
love yours to measure /
hold on forever /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
