Why are kids so bad /
being like mom and dad /
Learning from one or the other /
Oh my God where is my brother /
Little he may be /
Still i wish not to see /
13 year old shoots into the crowd /
Noise so loud /
two girls lay on the ground /
Shell casings found /
Another day on the streets /
Like midnight creeps /
Brood day light /
Fighting , fighting , fighting /
Like a Storm lighting lighting , lighting /
Frighting no more /
Today's culture a whore
Call it what you will /
For this there is no pill /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
