Take me away this American play /
Better they say /
But who is they /
Woke up with out a dime /
Matters not where you do your time /
Dinosaurs used to walk /
Now chickens balk /
human talk balk , balk , balk /
Black board and chalk /
Violence and murder ,every corner /
what of Jack Hornier /
Drinking beer on the corner /
Jimmy j chasing ass /
Cars sits there out of gas /
Money says in God we trust /
Everyone else they lust /
What of not heavy he's my brother /
Why bother with one another /
I see why the dinosaur walked away /
America just a corner of a whole called earth /
A place of birth /
Take me away to the whole /
A place others thought not to go /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
