Will they ever understand the ordinary man /
Tries to do the best he can /
Always tightening his belt /
Has no wealth /
Heart full of love /
He See's tears of doves /
His children's eyes tell his story /
Tears fall /
To his children's calls /
He is no ordinary man
He is of life's glory /
He is the true life's story /
He is just like me /
One you never see /
He has no facade /
He is poverty made /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
