I sit here thinking /
My eyes not blinking /
Am i asleep /
Do i dare open my eyes to peek /
If i look in the mirror what will i see /
will i see me /
Or a past i must try to flee /
Where is it i,m going /
My mind overflowing /
The pain grows and grows /
What my mind knows /
Of others pain , the river the river flows with in/
I do not know of where it began .........

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
