Awake to a new day
Know not day , month or year
Only the clouds of day appear
Heart starts feel it's pound
Fear fear abounds
My mind swims around and around
How to buy this and that
Nine lives like a cat
catch another rat in a trap
Children not wanting but needing
I will provide
Daddy's never lie

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
