the word of a bird that has flown away /
truth won't you return today /
It has flown with the eagle
So very far away , out of sight /
It left us with the demons of night /
Not like the vampire it walks in the light /
Nothing to say , but brings on blight /
Another murder in the shadows /
Like slaughtering cattle /
building ghettos across this land /
And yet I wonder why they can ?????

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
