i was happy talking and dancing like you /
daddy daddy teacher beware /
damn i wish she would go out and get a beer /
My son my son quit talking like that /
They will suspend you again and call you a brat /
My father get you a life /
Maybe one of those rent a wife's /
My son my son where you learn all of that /
My father it,s a rap by black cat /
the street really does talk back /
A new culture growing /
Don't you hear the whistle blowing /
Our kids are slowly going /
Following the piper /
In the voice of a viper /

- Poetry, what is it? A poet what is that? I doubt its me ! To me poetry is a word description of life. No matter a good or bad life only the truth of life. A poet can only truly describe a life he lives or has lived. One can not write about drug addiction, gangs, violence, and despair if he or she has not dwelled there. I write things I feel because I have been there, done that and know what many people feel because I feel it. What effects the young today effected the old yesterday. Nothing really has changed when it comes to poverty. I write about black and white issues because I feel neither black nor white, because I refuse to wear color of skin. I write about the young because I never grew up. I write about the old because the years added up.
